ARTIST STATEMENT
FAR FROM THE CROWD includes 36 vibrant abstract paintings created in 2019 and 2020. Many pieces in this show were directly inspired by turbulent events, uncertainty, and long periods of time spent in isolation during the Covid-19 pandemic, hence the title "FAR FROM THE CROWD.” At the same time, although the exhibition was physically set up in a "real gallery" for the purpose of filming, it was never intended for in-person viewing but only for a virtual audience. This, again, highlights the title since, due to the virtual feature of this exhibition, there were no crowds which regularly show up on opening night.
